The Diageo Special Release 2025 collection, called Horizons Unbound, features experimental whiskies curated by master blender Dr. Stuart Morrison. Key releases include the Talisker 14 Year Old ‘Molten Seas’, finished in American oak casks toasted by volcanic rocks, and the Singleton of Glen Ord 17 Year Old ‘Into the Blue’, which is finished in both ex-mezcal and ex-sherry casks. Other notable bottles are the Lagavulin 12 Year Old ‘Grain & Embers’, and the Oban 12 Year Old ‘Heart of the Harbour’. This collection is only missing one of them, Dailuaine but the most popular 7 are included and these description and tasting notes are all listed below:

• Talisker 14 Year Old ‘Molten Seas’: This is a 14-year-old whisky that was finished in new American oak casks toasted with volcanic rocks, giving it an innovative flavor profile.
• Singleton of Glen Ord 17 Year Old ‘Into the Blue’: This 17-year-old whisky is finished in a combination of ex-mezcal and second-fill ex-sherry casks, resulting in a mix of fruit, spice, and a hint of smoke.

• Oban 12 Year Old ‘Heart of the Harbour’: Matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, this whisky features a coastal character with notes of citrus and toffee.
• Clynelish 18 Year Old “Waxen Sun”: This Highland single malt, matured in refill casks, showcases pronounced tropical fruit notes (described as a “pineapple cut” during distillation) alongside the distillery’s signature waxy texture.
• Roseisle 14 Year Old “Harmonic Grace”: An elegant expression from one of Diageo’s newer distilleries, this whisky was crafted from a combination of refill and rejuvenated casks, offering a light, grassy, and spicy profile
• Teaninich 8 Year Old ‘Daring Rye’: A unique single grain whisky with a rye component in the mashbill, representing a first for the distillery
