Kilchoman Batch Strength 750ml

$78.99
While it drinks similarly to a true “cask strength” whisky, it is technically a “batch strength” release because the distillery adds a tiny amount of water post-maturation to keep the ABV at a uniform 57% across batches
  • Peat Level: Heavily peated to 50 ppm (parts per million) using barley distilled in copper pot stills.
  • Age: Non-age statement (NAS), but composed of whiskies matured for at least 3+ years.
  • Cask Composition: A specific three-way cask vatting breakdown consists of approximately 70% ex-bourbon barrels, 20% re-charred Portuguese red wine casks (STR), and 10% Oloroso sherry butts.
  • Presentation: Non-chill filtered and naturally colored with zero additives
📝 Flavor Profile
The use of shaved, toasted, and re-charred (STR) red wine casks brings a heavy fruit and caramel presence that rounds out the heavy peat smoke.
  • Nose: Intense peat smoke, fresh red cherries, dark summer fruits, and heather blossom.
  • Palate: Thick, oily texture. Heavy notes of toffee, vanilla, salted caramel, rich baking spices, and a bright layer of citrus sweetness.
  • Finish: Long and warming. Creamy, buttery notes reminiscent of fresh crumpets with honey, layered over a lasting, earthy peat smoke
